Needs Assessment of Critically ill Patients and Their Families at Intensive Care Unit

Background: Critically ill patients have many physical and psychological needs which contribute to disease progression are at risk for worsening of their condition. Family’s ability support may be compromised by own distress. So, significant progress has been made incorporate nursing care from a patient-centered approach family centered focus. Aim: This study aimed assess critically families intensive unit. Design: A descriptive exploratory design was utilized achieve the aim this study. Setting: conducted unit General Bulaq Dakror hospital. Sample: purposive sample sixty members were included in Tools: Four tools used study: structured interview questionnaire, barthel index scale, environmental stressor scale critical inventory. Results: demonstrated that mean age studied (61.00 + 13.28) member was(36.68 11.08) two thirds them had son or daughter relation patient. Less than half minimally dependent. The highest score stressors enviromental stressors. While, members’ assurance anxiety reduction needs. Conclusion: There statistically between educational level patients, as well, there total scores information number member’s visits patient.Recommendations: recommends continuous assessment most important largely unmet members.
